On December 28, 1980, the Senate of the Republic approved the 1980 Montevideo Treaty. On March 18, 2022, the United Mexican States and the Argentine Republic signed the Sixteenth Additional Protocol to the Economic Complementation Agreement No. 6, between the Argentine Republic and the United Mexican States (Sixteenth Protocol), through which it was agreed that the United States Mexicans will grant preferential treatment to the Argentine Republic in accordance with Annex II of ACE No. 6 to common black beans (Phaseolus vulgaris), except for sowing, without subjecting said treatment to compliance with the requirement of prior permission of importation for a quota of 50,000 tons during the period from July 1 to November 30 of the years 2022, 2023 and 2024, respectively.
